Deputy Health Minister Tran Van Thuan said the day before that more than 206 million doses of the vaccine had been administered in the country as of April 1, resulting in 99 percent of adults receiving two shots, and 50 percent — and third. At the moment, 17 countries accept Vietnamese vaccination passports for simplified entry. Last month, Vietnam reached an agreement on the mutual recognition of “vaccination passports” with USA, UK, Japan, Australia, Belarus, India, Cambodia, Philippines, Maldives, Palestine, Turkey, Egypt, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Singapore, Saint Lucia and Republic of Korea.
The document will be available in two applications: PC COVID-19 or Digital Health. If the traveler is unable to install one of the apps, they can obtain their passport through the website of the Ministry of Health by entering their identification contact information.
The introduction of vaccination passports was piloted at the end of March with approximately 1,000 Hanoi residents who were vaccinated at one of the city's three major hospitals. Ho Chi Minh City also issued vaccine passports to all who were vaccinated at Gia An 115 General Hospital.
