The Bulgarian Ministry of Tourism reported an almost 4-fold increase in the number of tourists from Russia in January-May 2022 compared to the same period in 2021.
“Despite the difficult international situation and the absence of direct flights, in January-May, 33,5800 arrivals of Russian tourists with an overnight stay in Bulgaria were recorded. This is 3.9 times more than in the same period last year”, Vedomosti quotes the words of the Minister of Tourism of Bulgaria Hristo Prodanov.
Issuance of tourist visas to Russians at the consulate at the Bulgarian Embassy in Moscow running in standard mode. Currently, Russian tourists travel to Bulgaria mainly through Istanbul (Turkey) or Yerevan (Armenia). It is also added that Russian tour operators did not close tours from Russia to Bulgaria, everyone expresses their readiness to continue working taking into account the new conditions.
