Charter transportation of Russian tourists to Egypt and Turkey may be restored in May. Such an optimistic statement was made by the head of the Federal Tourism Agency Zarina Doguzova during a briefing. According to her, at the moment, “relevant work” is being carried out.
The head of the Federal Tourism Agency recalled that direct flights to Istanbul, Cairo, as well as a number of resorts in Turkey and Egypt are already operating. But “at the same time, the volumes are still insufficient,” the head of the department added. According to her, Rostourism is currently working “on expanding not only regular flights, but also launching charter flights. “This is necessary for the tour operators to realize the volume of accumulated obligations,” Zarina Doguzova specified.
Recall that earlier the Federal Tourism Agency held negotiations with the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities of Egypt Khaled al-Anani. The main topic was the resumption of flights. The Egyptian carrier EgyptAir plans to launch flights to the resorts of Egypt, which are actually charters of the tour operator FUN & SUN (former TUI Russia). But the start of the flight program, scheduled for Thursday, was postponed. Read the details here.
