Thai authorities will close the popular island of Kradan to tourists

Kradan Island in the Andaman Sea will be closed for four months of the year, the Thai authorities have made such a decision in order to preserve the ecosystem, Asia News reports.

“Kardan Island will be closed to tourists for four months a year – from June 1 to September 30. Residents, business owners and employees of Hat Chao Mai National Park will continue to preserve the fragile ecosystem of the island, including coral reefs and marine life,” the newspaper writes.

According to the portal, the authorities of the kingdom made this decision after the beaches of Kradan were recognized as the best on earth, and Paradise Beach topped the rating of the British World Beach Guide “100 best beaches on Earth in 2023”.

Koh Kradan is one of the smallest and most isolated islands in Trang Province, located on the west coast of the Malay Peninsula. It is popular with snorkelers.
