Sheregesh may be included in the list of special economic zones. The corresponding proposal was voiced by the Minister of Economic Development of Russia Maxim Reshetnikov.
According to the press service of the department, in order to develop the Sheregesh sports and tourist complex, the minister suggested that the region submit an application for consideration for the creation of a special economic zone of a tourist and recreational type. Including taking into account the experience of creating such territories in the Irkutsk region, the Altai Territory and the North Caucasus.
“The development of large amusement parks in Russia are becoming points of attraction for tourists. These projects have a large multiplier effect in tourism. There should be from 7 to 9 such parks in the country. There are already two good examples in Russia: Sochi Park and Dream Island in Moscow. Due to the emergence of a large amusement park in Siberia, the number of car tourists from neighboring regions will also increase,” the minister noted.
Maxim Reshetnikov discussed with the Governor the strategy for the socio-economic development of the Siberian Federal District until 2035. The strategy was approved on January 26, 2023 by a decree of the Government of Russia. The curator of the strategy is Victoria Abramchenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation. On behalf of Anatoly Seryshev, presidential envoy to the Siberian Federal District, a working group headed by Sergei Tsivilev was created to prepare a draft action plan for the implementation of the strategy based on proposals from the Siberian regions.
The minister instructed the region to work out, together with investors, the implementation of major projects in the field of tourism to be included in the development strategy of the Siberian Federal District.

So, in 2021, the Governor of Kuzbass, Sergey Tsivilev, signed an agreement on cooperation between the region and JSC “Corporation Tourism.RF” for the development of the sports and tourist complex “Sheregesh” and the tourist and recreational cluster of promising development “Mezhdurechensk”
