Seychelles – heaven on earth

The Seychelles are green beads lost in the waters of the Indian Ocean. Due to the long isolation from the rest of the world, the island nation was able to preserve its unique flora and fauna, which now attracts millions of tourists. Unlike the Maldives, the Seychelles is a more diverse resort. To prove it, we tell you what to do and what to see on these paradise islands.

How to get there and how much it costs

Despite the fact that from 25 In March, the Seychelles opened their borders to tourists; it will not be possible to fly to the resort directly from Russia. Direct flights to the islands were difficult to find even before COVID-19, so you should prepare for the fact that the flight will not be cheap (from 40,000 rubles round-trip per person).

Prices for hotels in the Seychelles vary depending on the location and number of stars. They can be quite acceptable, although there are more sky-high here. For example, you can rent a small house with air conditioning for two for 35,000 – 40,000 rubles a week. & nbsp;

What you definitely have to spend a lot of money on is food. It is difficult to farm on the islands, because there is almost no land for this. Therefore, the state has to wait for supplies from the mainland, which greatly increases the cost of products both in supermarkets and restaurants. Dinner for two at some nice place  grilled fish can cost 2,000 rupees, which is about 8,000 rubles (at the exchange rate for April 2021). & nbsp;

What to see in the Seychelles

As we have already noted, leisure in the Seychelles is more diverse than in the Maldives. The fact is that hotels in the Maldives are located in isolation, which means that tourists have to constantly swim between them, which can cost a pretty penny. In the Seychelles, you can also move between the islands, but each of them still has its own hotels and entertainment.

Mae Island

Mahe is the largest and most populous island in the Seychelles. The capital of the state, the city of Victoria, is also located here, where you can stroll along the colonial streets, look at the local market and have a bite to eat on the picturesque beach. By all standards, the capital has both museums and art galleries, but once you are on an island paradise, it is better to spend your money and time on other Seychelles attractions. For example, to the St. Anne Marine National Park, where you can meet dolphins and turtles, go boating or diving. Of the free pleasures – the village of artisans (Domaine de Val des Pres). The entrance to the town itself costs nothing, but it’s impossible to leave without a fancy souvenir!

Aldabra Island

Aldabra is often referred to as the “Pearl of the Seychelles”. The island is located quite far from Mahe and you can get to it only with a special permit on a cruise ship or your own yacht. The fact is that this huge coral atoll is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List because of the unique population of giant tortoises. Only wild animals live on the island, so here you get the feeling that you have become Robinson Crusoe. By the way, if you do not have the opportunity to go on an expensive trip to Aldabra, be sure to book a tour on a yacht to other islands of the Seychelles.
