In the near future, with the departure of the coronavirus from the agenda, restrictions on flights to 40 countries at once can be lifted. This information from the Operational Headquarters was presented to TASS by a source in the Ministry of Transport.
“The operational headquarters for the fight against a new coronavirus infection may decide in the near future to lift the restrictions imposed against the background of the pandemic on the number of flights between Russia and about 40 countries. According to one of the interlocutors of the agency, such a decision was made at the last meeting of the operational headquarters,” TASS said. According to the agency, the information was also confirmed “in one of the largest airlines.”
Recall that the last opening happened in early March – then the Federal Air Transport Agency announced the lifting of restrictions on irregular and regular flights to the countries of the post-Soviet space – Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Iran on a reciprocal basis.
We note that, in addition, restrictions on flights to Belarus, the Dominican Republic, Egypt (and only to resorts), the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Cuba have been completely lifted. Restrictions on flights to Finland, the Czech Republic, Switzerland and South Korea have also been lifted. However, flights to more of these countries are now closed or limited due to air sanctions.
