Masks are back at the most popular resorts. New closures soon?

At least three popular seaside resorts have announced a return to the mask regime amid rising coronavirus cases. And we are talking only about the Mediterranean, in other regions the trend is similar. If we extrapolate the trends of two years ago, we can assume that with a high probability of people, the borders of countries in a couple of months may again begin to close…

Thus, masks were announced not only in Cyprus (read the details here), but and in the resort province of Valencia in Spain. And besides, from July 11, masks will return in French Nice. True, the return policy is limited every time, but the frightened tourist business is already sure that we will soon be closed again.

In the Valencia region of Spain, hoteliers organization Hosbec has made it mandatory for employees to wear masks “to prevent infections and the resulting loss of life.” The decision came after Spain and Valencia saw significant increases in coronavirus cases. It is emphasized that there is currently no mandatory mask-wearing requirement across the country, but hotels are adopting it in case new ones add to the problems caused by staff shortages across Europe.

In Nice, France, masks will return to public transport. The requirement will come into effect on July 11. Nice Mayor Christian Estrosi said the “Nice metropolis”, which covers the city and nearby towns, has signed a decree strengthening the requirement to wear a mask on public transport. From July 11, the mask will be mandatory for passengers on buses and trams in the metropolis of Nice.

Thailand is also discussing the mandatory return of the mask regime. The return of “covid” rules – at least in the sense of wearing masks in public places – such a measure is advocated by the Thai counterpart of the Operational Headquarters. The return of the mask regime began to be discussed at a meeting of the Prime Minister of Thailand Prayut Chan-Ocha with representatives of the Center for Covid-19 Situation Management (CCSA). If this continues, then not only will there be a return to masks, but also to lockdowns and forced vaccinations, and tourism will come to an end again. Read more here.
