Denmark and Sweden resume issuing tourist visas to Russia

Denmark and Sweden have officially announced the lifting of restrictions on the entry of Russians and the resumption of issuance of all types of visas.

From March 29, 2022, citizens of any country can enter Denmark, regardless of their vaccination status. You can enter Denmark without providing the results of PCR tests and undergoing quarantine upon arrival. The Embassy of Denmark in Moscow confirmed to ATOR that there are no restrictions on the acceptance of documents for visas, applications for any category are accepted.

It is clarified that the standard processing time for applications for Russian citizens is up to 10 calendar days, excluding the delivery of a passport. Applications can be submitted at VFS Global visa application centers in 16 cities of Russia.

The Swedish Embassy in Moscow also confirmed that as of April 1, 2022, the ban on entry into the country has been lifted and there is no need to go through quarantine, present certificates and pass entry tests. VFS Global Visa Application Centers have resumed accepting documents for visas to Sweden, including tourist visas, in 19 cities of Russia.

The Swedish Embassy informs that the processing time for visa applications may be longer than usual due to the large number of applications. In this regard, the number of entries for applications will be limited.

Those Russians who are applying for a business visa, have a diplomatic passport or are going to make an official visit to Sweden, must pay a consular fee of 80 euros and provide additional documents for the application. This is due to the fact that the simplified visa regime between the EU and Russia has been suspended since February 28, 2022.
