Guests of the new museum will be able to go on a journey through time and space lasting 13.8 billion years.
Construction of the attraction has already begun and should be completed by the end of 2025. The museum will be located in the Saadiyat area, which has established itself as one of the world's leading cultural centers. The highlight of the collection of the new museum will be the world-famous “Stan” — well-preserved fossilized skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus rex from the late Cretaceous period. Exhibit length — 11.7 meters. This 67-million-year-old dinosaur will be under the watchful eye of scientists and will continue to inspire future explorers.
Another unusual — the Murchison meteorite that fell in Australia more than 40 years ago and revealed to scientists new information about the past of the solar system. It was formed over 7 billion years ago — long before our current solar system was born.
The museum's collection will also feature other significant artifacts collected by a special team in Abu Dhabi with the support of the world's leading scientists and natural history experts.
Conceived and designed by the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT Abu Dhabi), the Natural History Museum will be a “research, teaching and educational resource for exploring the evolving history of our planet, aimed at something to rekindle a lifelong passion for the natural world in visitors of all ages.”
